The versatile way of being chic when lazy

Hello Gorgeous! Today I decided to take the day off and just stay home and prepare everything for the first day of school tomorrow. I get extremely excited when a new semester starts because I get to buy new school supplies! Call me crazy but, I do nothing the day before just to make sure everything is perfectly prepared for the first day of school, Its so exciting. Am I the only one that gets excited for a new semester, and does this?

I wore the look below about a week ago, on a somewhat cool Miami day. Top consists of just a simple backwards cardigan! Who new a cardigan could be so versatile. Backward cardigans are perfect for those days when you don’t feel like putting too much thought into an outfit but still feel like looking chic.

Organic Beauty Products (DIY Scrub)

My first few posts have been about some of my fashion choices, however, I wanted to dedicate this for one for one of my favorite home made beauty product. My wonderful sugar, honey & lemon scrub!

When it comes to my beauty regimen I like to keep it as organic, as possible. I used to be the kind of girl that would spend a fortune on beauty products, which would give me little to no results in return. Until one day that I decided to try the organic “home remedy” route, and oh boy am I glad I did! Beauty products out there contain way too many harmful chemicals, and to find a good product one needs to try way too many bad ones, & my budget nor my skin appreciate that.

This scrub works wonderfully for those with acne-prone skin. But, of course, the entire body can benefit from a lemon and sugar exfoliation that leaves skin soft and insanely smooth. I like to indulge in this scrub from head to toe!
What you’ll need:
1/2 fresh lemon
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tbls of olive oil
1 tbls of organic honey
Add lemon juice and olive oil in to a bowl until they mix together. Add the honey and stir quickly until the ingredients bind together. You can add or subtract the amount of olive oil and honey that you use depending on how thick you want your scrub to be. Add in the sugar and mix.

Instructions:
As a body scrub: Apply to body, paying extra close attention to elbows, knees, feet and hands (nails and cuticles especially) and rub in circular motions for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse. Enjoy the silky softness of your smooth skin.
As a face scrub: The lemon and sugar scrub is also great for the face, but use with gentle circular motions. Ingredients are highly beneficial for acne prone skin. Lemon tightens pores and evens out the skin tone, sugar removes dead skin cells and cleans pores, olive oil heals acne scaring, and honey prevents future breakouts.
To use, apply to clean face in gentle, circular motions. Be cautious of using on open wounds as the lemon may sting. Leave on for 7-10 minutes and rinse with cool water.
There are several ways to make a lemon and sugar scrub but I have found this one to be the easiest and most effective.

Let me know if you tried it, and how it works for you! Enjoy!

My Not so Winter, Winter

Today while I was picking out what clothes to wear to head Downtown to run some errands, I started thinking..... Even though I absolutely love living in the Sunshine State, sometimes I get a little jealous I don’t get to wear any of the winter clothes that for some odd reason I’ve bought so much of. For those of you that are not too familiar with the weather down here in Miami, It is extremely hot all year long, we get lucky if now and then there’s a small breeze. Therefore, I decided that even though it was hot out I still had the excuse that It is “winter season” for a little bit longer, and I put together a much
anticipated “winter outfit.”

Ps. Dont forget to leave me questions to add on my Q&A section.

Dark & Chic

Happy New Year everyone! I just want to say that 2012 was one hell of a year, and I am sure most of you can agree. As for me, 2012 brought much change and growth. Even though it came through some unfortunate events, I still wouldn’t trade it for the world. As for my New Year's Eve festivities; I decided to go for an “old Hollywood” glam look. This look was a little different from the Christmas Eve look because it was a lot more bold, and it required darker make up and much more contouring. However, creating this look was very fun & I cant wait to do it again. Perhaps sometime 2013?

I am interested to know, If you guys can sum up 2012 in one word what would it be? Mine would be “change.”

Simply White

First and foremost, I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays! As for me, I am extremely excited to finally make my first post on here. After doing so much tweaking and fixing on my template, I can finally say I am ready to start writing and get this ball going, haha. Writing my first post feels incredibly surreal because believe it or not, the phrase “Start a blog,” has been on my bucket list for a couple years. Now I can finally scratch it off!

Now to get to the point... I've decided to dedicate this first post to share the outfit I wore for my Christmas Eve festivities. This year, I decided I wanted to go for an all white outfit theme. Mainly because lately I've been obsessing over everything white. Also, white makes everything look so effortlessly beautiful, and that is every girls dream, to be effortlessly beautiful. So why not? My whole outfit was under $60, yet it looks a lot more expensive. That just goes to show you that you don’t need to spend a fortune to look fabulous.
